Quick answer: Low-Code-Bros prices custom AI automations by the project. Most small-business builds cost $500 to $5,000. The build takes 2 weeks, training is included for up to 2 weeks after delivery, and an optional monthly retainer is priced by how complex the tool is. No long contract. If your tool uses AI every time it runs, those small usage costs are folded into your monthly retainer where possible.
The cost of any custom service always seems to be painfully vague, but we want to be different.
The truth is, if I gave you an exact price off the bat, I’d have to go higher than necessary to capture projects of all sizes. That’s why it’s not necessarily a one-size-fits all.
However, I CAN give you more than a giant pricing table. I can tell you actual examples of projects (some I’ve done, some hypothetical) to help you understand where your price may land.
I’m Kyle, and I run Low-Code-Bros with my brother Tyler here in Cincinnati. We build custom AI tools for small businesses, and we price every build by the project, usually between $500 and $5,000.
Below is how most agencies price their work, where that model falls short for small businesses, how we do it differently, and examples from the low, middle, and high end of what we build.
How Most AI Automation Agencies Price Their Builds
Most agencies use some mix of four pricing models. Here’s what each typically costs in 2026, based on published agency pricing guides, and where each one falls short for a small business.
| Pricing Model and Typical 2026 Price | The Downside |
|---|---|
| Tiered project fee $1,500 to $4,000 simple, $7,000 to $12,000 mid, $15,000+ custom (Parix) | The floor is too high when you just need one annoying task fixed. |
| Pilot plus retainer $5,000 to $15,000 pilot, then $500 to $2,000 a month (Benian) | You keep paying a fixed monthly fee whether the tool needs work or not. |
| No-code platform subscriptions $50 to $500 a month in running costs (AutomationForce) | Per-task fees on tools like Zapier climb as your volume grows. |
| Hourly billing Varies widely | No ceiling. A “quick fix” can turn into a surprise invoice. |
One more downside shows up across almost every model: nobody prices in adoption. A tool your team doesn’t use is worth $0. Yet training and getting people comfortable is usually left out of the quote, or treated as the client’s problem.
How Low-Code-Bros Prices
We charge one project price for one custom tool, usually $500 to $5,000. That price covers the 2-week build and up to 2 weeks of training after delivery. After that, a monthly retainer is optional and priced by how complex your tool is.
Why We Can Charge Less
Two reasons. First, AI coding tools have cut the time it takes to build a custom tool from months to days, and we pass that savings on instead of pricing like it’s still 2022. Second, we scope every project to fit in 2 weeks. If yours needs more time, we’ll tell you on the first call.
We’re not a big agency, and that’s the point. You work directly with me and Tyler, backed by a UX specialist who focuses on AI for small businesses and nonprofits and a programming director who specializes in startups. My day job is running paid search as a marketing director, where I’ve spent more than a year building AI tools for a 300-plus person global agency.
What You Get at Each Price Point
Here’s what a low, mid, and high-end build looks like. Real client builds are named; example builds show what’s typical at that price.
| Tier and Price | What It Typically Does |
|---|---|
| Low $500 to $1,500 | One input, one AI prompt, one output Example: Financial report summarizer (example build) |
| Mid $1,500 to $3,000 | AI built into several steps of your workflow, each doing a different job Example: Zinser Insurance lead screening |
| High $3,000 to $5,000 | A full web app with multiple users, automated agents, and personalized output Example: Last Torch Standing; social media content tool (example build) |
Low Tier: Financial Report Summarizer (Example Build)
A tool that takes a long daily financial report and turns it into a short summary in your inbox each morning. No new software for your team to learn. It just shows up.
- Estimated time saved: 1 to 2 hours a week
- Running cost: Under $1 a month
Mid Tier: Zinser Insurance Agency Lead Screening
Zinser Insurance Agency in Cheviot gets dozens of quote requests by email every day. Each one had to be read by hand to check whether the customer sent everything needed for a quote.
We built a Universal Lead Screening Intake tool. It reads each incoming email, uses AI to check for the required information, and drafts the next step. An agent reviews it and hits send. The AI does the sorting, and a person still makes the call.
“The Universal Lead Screening Intake automation I’ll DEFINITELY be using. We get dozens of these quotes every day, so this will really help out.” — Craig B., Owner, Zinser Insurance Agency
- Project price: $1,200
- Time saved: About 5 hours a week
- Running cost: $20 a month
- See the full playbook
High Tier: Full Web Apps
Real build: Last Torch Standing. A Survivor pick-’em pool app where players make picks each week and the app tracks who’s still standing. Automated agents fetch the castaway votes after each episode, so scoring updates without anyone entering results by hand. It doesn’t use AI at all, and that’s the point: the right build is whatever solves the problem, AI or not.
Example build: social media content tool. A web app that writes social media posts in your brand’s voice, lets your team review and approve them, and posts them on schedule. It has multiple user accounts, AI agents that handle the writing and posting, and content tailored to each brand or account.
- Estimated time saved: 10+ hours a week
- Running cost: $100+ a month
How We Compare to Typical Agency Pricing
A side-by-side of the common downsides and how we handle each one.
| The Usual Downside | How We Handle It |
|---|---|
| High minimum price | Builds start at $500. Most small businesses need one task fixed, not a company-wide AI rollout. |
| Fixed monthly retainer | Optional. No fixed monthly fee. If you want ongoing changes, we price the retainer by how complex the tool is. |
| Per-task platform fees | Zapier is fine for simple connections. For the work that matters most, we build a custom tool, so your cost doesn’t grow every time it runs. Hosting and AI usage costs are small, folded into your retainer where possible, and shared before you sign. Typical running cost: $5 to $50 a month. |
| Adoption left out | Up to 2 weeks of training is built into every project. We design the tool around how your team already works, so people actually use it. |
| Unclear ownership | Your tool runs on our hosting while we support it. Whenever you want, we export the code to you and delete our copy, so it’s yours exclusively. |

Personally, I get excited about transforming businesses with tools like these. But, as you know, it’s not a one-size-fits-all.
Your business processes and needs are exclusive to you. And AI doesn’t always have the best track record for quality and accuracy. Giving the keys to your business to this kind of technology can be daunting.
And that’s okay! Leaning into things that are daunting is part of leadership, and so is pulling in trusted resources to help you navigate new waters.
That’s where my big brother and I come in.

Frequently Asked Questions
At Low-Code-Bros, most custom AI automations cost $500 to $5,000 as a one-time project fee. Price depends on how many systems the tool connects to and how many people use it.
The build takes 2 weeks. Training is separate and lasts up to 2 weeks after delivery.
Not always. A monthly retainer is optional for ongoing changes. It’s priced by how complex your tool is, not a fixed rate. If your tool uses AI every time it runs, that small usage cost is folded into a monthly retainer where possible, and we tell you the number upfront.
If you already use Zapier and just need two apps to talk to each other, Zapier is fine. Keep it. But your most important projects, the ones tied to customers or revenue, often deserve their own AI agents and an interface built around how your team actually works. That’s where a custom tool earns its price.
You do. We host it while we support it, and we can export the code to you and delete our copy at any time.
